KnightInShiningArmour - What I've Learnt
This is my second game made in Godot, after my first, I found Godot very enjoyable to use.
During the development of this one, I learnt the basics of using ray casts and how to implement graphics, I also made a pretty decent menu.
I had intended to make an RPG adventure game, but I didn't get round to implementing that part of the game.
It was around this point that it was getting close to Christmas, and I crashed due to what I hypothesise as seasonal depression, which as of spring, has only lifted.
This is where I realised that my burnouts were going to be a persistent issue, or at least, internalised it. I always wanted to make an RPG but, as you can probably see, this game is pretty bad, it's one scene with the ability to move, with some functioning collision, and several items that don't work, and a way to escape out of reality using the loading zone that doesn't work.
In hindsight, I should've either terminated development on the game earlier, or continued working on it instead of making a third game, I even had clearly defined dates for making builds and milestones, but... I did not stick to them.
However, I still like this game, and I will return to it and improve it, make it an actual game, add RPG elements like turn-based combat, levels, items, ect.
But, for now, that's all, adios
